I wonder if that black plastic part is not close enough to the metal table top and hence is not trueing up against it when you tighten the lock. The problem was further exacerbated on my saw because, it appears, the press used to stamp out the runner slots in the factory isn't quite long enough for the job. So if you are making a narrow cut and put some downward pressure the wood will drop down and subsequently the blade will make a bad cut. When i purchased this, i was one of the first and it had only just been released, replacing the Fury 5 table.
