Even dropping the book I was reading to start this baby. And I am so glad I did. I needed a sweet romance and this hit the spot. This hard and cold reality hit Ding Xian quite severely when she started her high school year. Ding Xian was always proud of herself. She’s a hard-working student and her grades were good. She was her mother’s pride and joy. But when she moves into a bigger world (her high school), reality hits her hard because, in this new world, she was nobody. Her good grades were nothing, and she must strive hard to catch up with the lesson. And being in a new world without a friend to talk to is hard. Sha Di and Zi Qi get together in Episode 14. She confesses first after their high school graduation. But they break up in Episode 16 when Zi Qi gets suspended from his studies. He hides in Si Yue’s home to avoid Sha Di who keeps searching for him. They reconcile in Episode 19 when she finds out where he has been hiding. This drama follows the story of Ding Xian ( Rainbow Xu) and Zhou Si Yue ( Chen Zheyuan) a story adapted from the novel 耳东兔子 which is set in the High School and University Years of their lives. Meeting for the first time in high school, the two did not get along, but as time went on, the bond between the two grew stronger, and gradually, a mutual feeling was developed between the two.

the side characters weren't annoying. they had their own story to tell, making us cheer for them even with the little screen time they had. I loved the friendship among all of them. the ML was portrayed splendid, props to the actor. he wasn't oblivious but seemed to get along with people around him quite well unlike other leads who act like they are allergic to humans or whatever. no super rich high school 'chaebol' heir so it makes the viewers easy to empathize. the way he looks at the FL melts me uwu. he really set the bar high for a "boy in love". Though Si Yue is portrayed as the school genius and basically this popular guy who is good in everything he does (typical school romance plot right?), but the way the character is acted out is not unrealistic at all. He is not the typical cold blooded, cool guy who is unapproachable. I think both the leads did a great job in portraying their characters. Chen Zhe Yuan seems like a natural fit as Si Yue with his smirks and air of indifference. Si Yue’s character is not cold and arrogant but neither is he friendly and warm. He is somewhere in between. Chen Zhe Yuan manages to give Si Yue this balance so that he appears just like the typical boy next door.

eps seem too short for the first time! "Our Secret" is a drama with a good plot, lovable characters and excellent acting. the actors in this drama aren't that famous (edit: this was before hidden love) but their acting is really good; definitely how a high schooler would behave, in my opinion. it's fast paced with little or no filler scenes so overall it was a good watch. it felt so nostalgic (even tho I haven't finished my high school yet).
